Driver Charged in Fatal 2023 Accident Involving Oscar Rhodas, Faces Multiple Charges

Almost a year after Oscar Rhodas was flung to his death from a truck pan, the driver has been arrested and charged. The incident happened between Mile 2 and 3 of the Burrell Boom-Hattieville Road on June 12, 2032. Initial investigation revealed that Marvin Cal was driving a white Ford Ranger with three passengers inside including the deceased.  Upon reaching mile two and a half, Cal attempted to overtake a bus when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into an oncoming truck. The impact caused Rhodas his life. Yesterday, at the conclusion of investigation into the incident, Cal was arrested and charged. Today, he appeared unrepresented before a Senior Magistrate where he was charged with manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct and drove motor vehicle without due care and attention. No plea was taken.  Since there was no objection to bail, Cal was given bail of eight thousand dollars which he met.  The conditions of his bail say that he must not contact any family member of the deceased and he must report to a designated police station twice a week. A disclosure will be made on Cal’s next court date, July 22.
