Elderly Villager from San Jose Succotz Physically Attacked

Two men are being sought for reportedly attacking an elderly man in San Jose Succotz Village, Cayo District on Sunday evening. According to reports, Cirio Panti was sitting on the doorstep of his house on Church Street when he was attacked by two men from the same village. Witnesses say that the attackers were visibly drunk. Panti made an official police report and was been taken to the hospital for attention. Love News spoke with Panti who explained that he was beaten, stomped and robbed.

Cirio Panti, Victim: “I was sitting at the doorway just resting when all of a sudden the two men appeared and began attacking me. I was not expecting that. I fell to the floor and they took advantage of the situation and they began hitting me. I’ve never had any problems with them. They have taken up the habit of going around begging for money and if you don’t give it to them they get upset and they start to insult you. I had some money in my pocket and they took it. I had just returned from San Ignacio from doing a job and last night at the hospital I realized it was missing. I already reported it to the police but that’s what the guy Jason does he goes around asking for money and whenever you don’t give it to him he starts with the insults. Right now I have chest pain.”

Panti said that by the time he was able to get back onto his feet, they had already made their good escape.
