EMS Week Celebrated with Educational Children’s Day in Belmopan

In commemoration of international Emergency Medical Service (EMS) week, a group of EMS members hosted an EMS children day. The event was held at the May Gordon Field in Belmopan from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm. Children were able to witness several demonstrations such as CPR, first aid, ambulance and how to stop bleeding. They were entertained by playing games and given a chance to go inside an ambulance and learn about the equipment. Program Coordinator, Lavinia Davis spoke about the initiative behind getting children involved in EMS week. 

Lead instructor at ABC Life support, Javier Canul spoke about the importance of teaching children about the role of EMT’s. 

The theme for this year’s EMS week is “honoring our oast, forging our future”
