GOB Extends Amnesty Program

GOB Extends Amnesty Program

The Government of Belize has decided to extend the application period for its Amnesty Program. Today, November 30, was the deadline for persons to apply; however, due to a low number of applicants, the application period will be extended to February 2023. GOB is anticipating that this process will result in the regularization of an estimated 60 thousand migrants but Love News understands that a little over ten thousand persons have sought amnesty so far. The online portal was launched back in July and the application period began in August of this year. The processing period for the program was to commence tomorrow and end on May 31, 2023.
