Historic Promotion at Price Barracks: First Woman Elevated to Lieutenant Colonel of the BDF

A promotion ceremony was held this afternoon at Price Barracks that saw the first woman to be elevated to Lieutenant Colonel in the military.  We join Reporter Kendra Romero for the story.

Lydia Guerra, Colonel, Belize Defence Force: “I worked towards it. I know I’ve worked very hard and there’s been many years of dedication but it’s always, you know, quite an honor to reach this rank and being the first woman in Belize to earn the rank of Lieutenant Colonel within the Belize Defense Force.”
