Western Belize is known for keeping traditional easter festivities alive. To kick start the holiday weekend, Cayo North East Area Representative Orlando Habet hosted a Hot Cross Bun competition today at the Falcon Field in San Ignacio. Approximately 12 participants displayed their baked goods for the second annual sale and competition. Minister Habet told Love News that the event is important for keeping the tradition alive.

At the break of dawn tomorrow, Benque Viejo del Carmen residents will gather on the streets to create sawdust carpets, followed by the reenactment of the stations of the cross. Minister Habet spoke about other events that residents and visitors can look forward to.
