Two residents of the culture capital, Dangriga, were displaced yesterday following a house fire. The fire broke out at around seven in the morning, consuming the elevated wooden bungalow house on Polack Street. Accounts indicate that the flames rapidly engulfed the three-bedroom home despite the efforts of firefighters. The homeowner, John Bernardez, was not at home at the time but was altered by his father, Henry Bernardez. Stann Creek Correspondent Harry Arzu spoke to the elder Bernardez about the unfortunate ordeal and what he believes sparked the blaze.
The home nor its contents were insured.
