And while ADO and Fuente del Norte will be doing runs from Belize City, the media asked Prime Minister Briceno if the government is working at having Belize’s bus lines getting access to runs from across the border.
Hon. John Briceño, Prime Minister of Belize: “Once they meet the standards then we can go and put pressure on the governments Guatemala and Mexico to say our buses are meeting the standards that you have in your country and so we’ll be able to then demand one that they can do that but more importantly if we have good buses Belizean buses to Chetumal to Belize a tourist when they get to Chetumal they don’t need to go to and ADO they could jump in a Belize bus because it meets the standards so it can work both ways, it can work to our advantage that we can move these passengers coming into Belize and at the same time we can go to operate within the highway network within Mexico and Guatemala.”
