A mother and daughter became the victims of a daring robbery yesterday afternoon on Captain Eiley Street in Belize City. Around 4:20 PM, 42-year-old Chueh Chun, owner of a store at the Phillip Goldson International Airport, and her mother were targeted while heading home. As the two women were driving from Coney Drive towards the Phillip Goldson Highway, a silver vehicle pulled up alongside them. Suddenly, it stopped, and four men exited the car. One of the robbers, armed with a firearm, approached the driver’s side, pointed the weapon at Chun, and removed the keys from the vehicle’s ignition. Meanwhile, another robber opened the passenger door of the vehicle, where her mother was seated, and snatched her red strap bag containing a laptop, two cellular phones, and $1,500 in cash. The four men then re-entered the vehicle and fled towards the Phillip Goldson Highway. Authorities have canvassed the area and reviewed nearby surveillance footage, but no suspects have been identified yet.
