Notorious Murder Suspect Christian Espat Remains at Large, Asserts Innocence

Notorious alleged murderer Christian Espat remains on the lam tonight, and continues to claim innocence. The 28-year-old, San Pedro resident is wanted by police for the murder of 25-year-old, Delmar Rodriguez; 3-year-old, Amari Rodriguez, and Carlos Chi. Espat and Michael Brown, who turned himself into police, are the main suspects in the triple homicide, believed to be the result of the raging drug war in San Pedro. Espat is not a stranger to the law and has been implicated in numerous murders and violent crimes. Minister of Home Affairs Kareem Musa explained that Espat and his family are players in the drug and said that people like him need to be behind bars.

Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs: “I do not know the gentleman. I do not wish to know the gentleman but like you rightly pointed out there is a long history there. There are several families in San Pedro who have historically been engaged I think three or four notorious families, engaged in this playadore lifestyle in this drug activity and it’s not just in the last ten years we’re talking at least twenty years that these families have been involved. I think that particular individual his entire family was wiped out, Espat if I’m not mistaken a lot of his family members were in fact killed because of this very drug trade and so that certainly is what I do know of the family and that is something that definitely is a serious concern that we have to apply greater pressure. We did put a police booth up north San Pedro a few months ago I think about ten months ago and we do have greater police presence along the beaches in North San Pedro but again such a large area to cover and in fact that is something that we are going to be addressing.”
