St. John Credit Union has categorically denied that a member’s money has gone missing from their account. Today, the credit union, which manages a hundred and eleven million dollars in assets issued a statement after an account holder alleged, via social media, that fifteen thousand dollars was missing. Daisy Dawson, General Manager and SJCU, says that allegations prompted a full investigation, and nothing was found after the member’s full account history was reviewed.

Daisy Dawson, General Manager, SJCU: “In this particular case when the allegation was made we asked the member to provide the evidence to us so we can do the cross-check within our system. But that has not been forthcoming to us. However, we went ahead and we did our internal thing and we did cross-check from the time the member opened the account up to the point and time of April 2025. So we have the entire history on that member’s account, which shows all the activity, online banking, everything it shows. So there’s the complete history on that particular account. $15,000 does not disappear just like that out of a member’s account. There are paper trails, there are audit logs, so you can go within the system, pull your audit logs and see what is happening in that account. So there are many check and balances within the system and also monitoring that is being done by our internal personnel. So the records are there. We check and we found that at no point what the member is alleging in terms of their account balance was not there. So we asked for the evidence. If you have a screenshot, if you have receipts, provide all those things to us so we can do our own cross-check within the system.”
Dawson says members can rest assured there are processes in place to protect their accounts and urged anyone with queries to contact SJCU immediately.
