And while Oswaldo has only been gone for some 72 hours, a teenager from Belize City has been missing for eight days. The 17-year-old was last seen on Monday, October 2 in Belize City. After days of not seeing him, family members grew concerned, and filed a missing person’s report on Sunday, October 8. According to the aunt, Natalie Hamilton, the family is now presuming the worst, and is asking for closure.
Natalie Hamilton, Aunt: “The last time that any of us that are his family members saw him alive was on Monday the second of October. He went to his mother’s house at Number 8 Pelican Street, he went for food. After he left from there he came by the family yard where I live. He always came here everyday to chill with his favorite cousin which is Aliyah Gabourel but unfortunately that morning Aliyah was not home, he went out of the yard and that was the last time we saw or heard from Malachi. We were not really alert until like Wednesday because we noticed that he didn’t come by and he usually came by, like I said, every day to go see Aliyah and they always chill and talk. So Aliyah became more and more suspicious on Friday because he had a charge for marijuana and he usually goes and sign because he was out on bail. So when she saw that he didn’t come for her to take him to go sign in she told my brother, who is a Malachai’s father that something is wrong because Malachai hasn’t come by in so many days and he hasn’t come also to go and sign in. So my brother went down the street, like I told you where Malachi was staying at and asked if they saw him and they said no, they didn’t see him. I will be honest, in this day and time, the way how this society is set up, I know deep within my heart, I don’t want to say it because it’s something negative, but I have to be real. My nephew is dead and probably out there somewhere they have his body and all we are asking is, if anyone knows anything where his body is they don’t even have to tell us who did it. Just tell us where Malachi’s body is so that the family can get closure and Malachi can get a burial.”
Prior to going missing, Malachi Hamilton had a daily routine that included visiting or calling his cousin, Aaliyah Gabourel. When two days had passed and Malachi was not seen nor heard from, Gabourel alerted the father. More startling was the report that Malachi was threatened by some guys he knew.
