Teenagers Cleared of Murder Charge in Belize City Court

Two teenagers charged with the murder of sixty-one-year-old Emert Flowers have been cleared of the charge. Nineteen-year-old Adrian Hernandez and a 17-year-old minor appeared in the Belize |City Magistrate’s Court today, where they were informed that the charge against them was being withdrawn. The Director of Prosecution Branch noted the Directive to withdraw came from the Director of Public Prosecutions after careful consideration of the evidence. Emert Flowers was shot on December 27, 2022, while at his home. He died on the spot. Flowers was along with 77-year-old Dusseldore Waight who was also shot in the incident but survived.
