UDP Chairman Calls for Deeper Investigation into Land Documents and Officials

As our newsroom continues its investigation into the land documents that are surfacing, and may possibly be linked to the Definitive Agreement, UDP Chairman, Michael Peyrefitte is calling for a deeper look into Erwin Contreras, and all the other parties whose names are popping up.  He has even called on Prime Minister John Briceno to question the persons, he claims are his personal friends.

Michael Peyrefitte, UDP Chairman: “The agreement that we have, the government, when I say we I mean the government, that was signed is between the government and Portico. If there’s any talking, there should be talking between the government and Portico. We hear of another MOU with hotels and stuff with Portico and Royal Caribbean. Well let Royal Caribbean and Portico talk. Why is the government injecting itself into this? Why is the government seem so hell bent on fighting for Portico when it is claiming that an agreement that was signed with Portico was a sham from the beginning ? This is what we don’t understand. So you may have more answers than me, Troy. I have no answers to that. All I have is questions because it doesn’t seem to make sense. You would think that with all that is happening, you would think that the government would want to stay as far away from that situation as possible. You would want to think that the government would call in Portico and say, “byway listen this is not going well. You chose to enter into agreement which everybody seems to believe you should not have been in that agreement because you are in an agreement that the world seems to think is not only egregious but illegal. So you would have to come up with something on your own or you would have to do something to demonstrate to us why we should even have a meeting with you.” but it is the government that it seems is leading the process which it begs the question what is so special about Portico and if you’re saying that one side of it is an ugly baby and a sham then on the other side of it is Portico which is also then you’re implying that they’re involved in that. Like look at the land thing that the Prime Minister came out with in the house. Everybody is talking about how these different people got these different lands so quickly but nobody is looking at the other side. How did Portico buy it so quickly and get their title so quickly ? Who is investigating that? So I saw your reporter went to the different people who got lands but he has one more entity to go to. He needs to go to Portico today and say Mr.Portico how did you buy these lands and get  these titles so quickly ?”

Troy Gabb, Host, The Morning Show: Well the media can camp out at these and camp out at Contreras as well.

Michael Peyrefitte, UDP Chairman: “All of them, everybody and that is what the inquiry is going to do. The inquiry is going to look into all of that to say how did this come about when it doesn’t seem like this was a legitimate process all along. We want to know.”
