Elmer Nah appeared in court today for his preliminary inquiry on his charge of triple murder. However, his PI could not proceed as the lead prosecutor, Alifa Elrington, is out of the country. Nah appeared unrepresented in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court before Chief Magistrate Jayani Wegodapola, despite having an attorney to represent him in the case. In court, Nah said that he did not know where his attorney was, but in his absence, he was requesting that the prosecution furnish him with some evidence. Nah asked for a new copy of the DVD provided to him in his disclosure, saying that the quality was poor and did not show the face of the shooter. The Chief Magistrate ordered that the prosecution furnish Nah with the copy and adjourned the case until April 10, when it will be heard in Belmopan. Nah is charged with the murders of Jon, David, and Vivian Ramnarace. Jon and David were fatally shot on New Year’s Eve 2022, while Vivian, who was also shot that night, died some fifteen days later.
