Man Detained in San Pedro Shooting Linked to Turf War

Police on La Isla Bonita have detained one man for Saturday’s shooting that left 22-year-old Zulmy Magana injured. The woman was at an apartment complex on Third Street in San Pedro Town when three men opened fire on them. The assailant then made their escape by speeding off in a nearby boat. The shooting was believed to be the result of a turf war, but according to Commissioner of Police Chester Williams police have several leads.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “We believe that the shooting might have to do with a previous case, a retaliation and police are on it. We have recovered one weapon yesterday. Police have one person detained in custody and we’re trying to see if we can gather evidence to be able to further the investigation.”

Camara’s husband attempted to capture the men but lost them a few minutes after setting chase
