Kriston Francis Pleads Guilty to 2023 Murder in Belize High Court

Twenty-year-old Kriston Francis pleaded guilty to a charge of murder in the Belize High Court today.  Francis appeared in court today before Justice Derick Sylvester for the 2023 murder of Adrian Pook. Francis invoked the plea deal provisions made available under the recent amendment to the criminal code. Justice Sylvestre accepted the plea and set the sentencing hearing for July 16. Adrian Pook, who was 29 years old at the time, was shot and killed on Sunday, April 30, 2023.  Pook was in his family yard when Francis jumped the fence to enter and fired a single fatal shot. Pook’s father struggled with Francis moments after and managed to wrestle the gun from him. Pook’s father subdued Francis and kept him there until the police arrived.
