Tonight, one of three men accused of executing a broad daylight armed robbery is a free man after being acquitted of two counts of robbery. In 2021, Eric Hamilton allegedly targeted Reimers Feed Mill on the Phillip Goldson Highway during the heat of the pandemic and stole $7,821. Hamilton, a 26-year-old resident of Belize City, was charged for the incident, but today he was freed. The Senior Magistrate ruled the footage quality, which allegedly captured Hamilton, was too poor to conclusively identify him as one of the robbers. Additionally, no employees could identify the robbers, leading Haliton’s acquittal due to insufficient evidence.
