Missing Man Found Dead in Northern Belize Cane Field

The body of a 49-year-old man was found in a cane field in northern Belize at around five o’clock this evening.  James Mendez was reported missing on Tuesday when he did not return to his home in San Pablo Village, Orange Walk District.  Love News understands that the body was found in the adjacent village of Nuevo San Juan.  According to the Chairman of San Pablo Village, Javier Sabido, the victim’s close friends and family knew something was wrong as it was out of character for Mendez to go no-contact.

Mendez was last seen on Monday morning at six o’clock when he left home.  Preliminary reports say that no signs of violence were observed on the body.  Mendez leaves behind his wife and two children./
