Alleged arsonist sets Bacab ablaze

at Bacab Eco Park. Around 7 o’clock last night, police were called to a fire at the establishment and found two wooden and concrete structures wholly engulfed in flames. Fire personnel extinguished the blaze but not before it resulted in over 400 hundred thousand dollars in damages. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Hilberto Romero, says the police have since launched an investigation into the fire and believe it resulted from arson.

ACP Hilberto Romero, Officer Commanding Eastern Division: “Initial investigation revealed that a motorcycle was seen entering the area with two male persons and thereafter the buildings were seen engulfed in flames. Thereafter the two male persons fled from the area on the motorcycle. We are conducting investigation into this fire. The two buildings are valued one at $300,000 and the other one at $400,000. One person is in custody at this time for questioning. There are several leads we are following up on and whatever information we get we will follow it up but at this time that is all the information we have.”

The buildings were not insured
