Arrests Made in San Pedro Robbery Case: Two Charged, One Escapes Custody

Police have also arrested and charged two San Pedro men in connection with a robbery last Saturday night. Thirty-three-year-old Leonard Williams was charged with a single count of robbery, while nineteen-year-old Henry Alvarado was charged with one count of robbery, one count of threat of death, and two counts of wounding. The alleged victims, fifty-seven-year-old Alba Ramirez and twenty-three-year-old Jairo Solis told police they were socializing in Ramirez’s yard when three men two of whom they knew as Henry and Gato, entered the yard. They said the men demanded a thousand dollars in cash and cigarettes, then Henry began assaulting Solis. Henry also allegedly threw a conch shell hitting Ramirez to the body. The men reportedly took cell phones and other electronics valued over a thousand dollars. It is further alleged that before leaving, Henry told them that if they reported the matter to police he would return with a firearm and kill them. Notably, Hendry escaped from police after being arrested on Sunday. Police later recaptured him and additionally charged him with escaping lawful custody.
