‘Ballin Like Her’ Summer Camp Empowers Young Female Basketball Players

The Belize District Basketball Federation has collaborated with Cheyenne Givens and Rebekah Obinma, 2 D-1 College athletes in the USA, to host the “Ballin Like Her” Summer Camp. The camp catered to young ladies from primary school to the college level, each level with specialized training and activities. The primary focus of the camp is to focus on the inclusion of women within the sport of Basketball to break the stigma of it being a male-dominated sport. Roscoe Rhys, President of the Belize District Basketball Association, encouraged the participation of females in the sport.

Love News also spoke with Rebecca Obinma, an incoming University of Belize athlete, about her contributions to the camp.

The camp ends on Friday the 26th.
