Baseball Federation of Belize Accuses Softball Group of Power Grab

But while the newly named federations say they look forward to building baseball alongside softball, another entity is crying foul. The Baseball Federation of Belize (BFB) says that it has been the nationally recognized body for the development of baseball in Belize since 2017. The BFB says that it registered with the National Sports Council back in 2017 and has been holding various programs to revive and advance the sport. As recently as April 2, the BFB launched a program to create starter teams in five Belize City Primary Schools and announced ambitious plans of building a world-class baseball stadium. Carlon Flores, President of the BFB, says he was never consulted and feels that the Softball federation is attempting to hijack the development of baseball, which he and his executive have worked hard to achieve.

Flores says he has been in contact with the National Sports Council on the matter.
