Belize Amnesty Applications Under Review, Thousands Await Decision

The Ministry of Immigration has announced that the revision of amnesty applications are still under review.  Belize has received more than twelve thousand seven hundred applications from citizens of 32 countries.  (AMNESTY VO STARTS) Immigration officials are collaborating with the Ministry of Home Affairs for the revision of the applications.  In a release issued, the ministry is reminding applicants that the white Amnesty receipt, issued by the ministry, is a legal document entitling migrants to remain in Belize, and to work in Belize until a final decision is made on their application. The ministry is expected to complete the revisions by the end of September this year.
