Belize City Council Hosts Second Annual Culture Festival at Love Park

Belize City residents came out by the hundreds over the weekend for the second annual culture festival, hosted by the Belize City Council. The event was held at the Love Park in the Belama Phase One area and done in collaboration with area representative Francis Fonseca and his Freetown Constituency team. The event featured authentic food from the various cultural groups in Belize, children’s activities, and live entertainment. Erin Garnett, communications manager for the Belize City Council, said that the event forms a part of the council’s greater push to bring family-friendly activities to all areas in the city.

Garnett also said that the event, which closes the council’s summer calendar, is also a means of stimulating the economy. She added that the council has a number of events coming up that city residents should be on the lookout for.
