Belize Police Continue Search for Wanted Gang Members

The Belize Police Department remains on the hunt for several men who managed to elude authorities last month. The alleged gang members were able to escape the police’s round-up on June 24, prompting the department to release several wanted posters. Under the SOE, over sixty men have been increased, but several others remain at large. Commissioner of Police Chester Williams provided an update on the police’s efforts yesterday.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “We’re still looking for some people, yes. We still have some wanted posters out and we’re hoping we can find them. But we have not been able to find everybody that we had anticipated to pick up. And so we continue to urge the public, if they have any information pertinent to the whereabouts of these individuals, to let us know.”

The SOE expires on September 24.
