Belize U-18 Basketball Team Stuns Brazil with Historic Ameri-Cup Win

Belizeans across the Jewel are rejoicing tonight after the country’s National Under-18 Basketball Team won their first match of the FIBA Under-18 Ameri-Cup in Argentina. The core of young players was able to triumph over Brazil, ranked number 11 in the world, by a score of 106-102. Belize’s win is huge for the team, as they were considered the underdogs going into the match. The game’s top scorers were Josiah Moseley with 31 points and 8 rebounds, and Douglas Langford with 28 points and 9 rebounds. Following the big win, Langford shared a few words with FIBA officials.

Belize is in group B and tomorrow the team faces off against the number one ranked team in the world, Team USA.
