Belize U17 Female Volleyball Team Wins Bronze at Central American Championship, Secures Six Individual Awards

The Belize Volleyball Association is congratulating Belize’s Under 17 Female Volleyball Team, for placing third in the tournament held in Nicaragua over the weekend. The team was one of six countries participating in the first-ever Central American U17 Women’s Championship, held in the capital city, Managua. They finished the tournament with a record of three wins, two losses, and a total of 14 points. Apart from winning the bronze medal, Belizean players captured six of the twelve individual awards that were issued, securing more than any other participating country. President of the Belize Volleyball Association, Allan Sharp, praised the team for their performance and noted that they kept a close game with the champions, Costa Rica. Sharp added that the individual medals won, proves that Belizean athletes are among the best in the region.

The team returned to Belize this afternoon.
