Belize’s Companies Registry is now online

Registering your business is now easier and paperless thanks to the introduction of the Online Business Registry System (OBRS). The new online portal was launched to allow citizens and businesses to get online access to services from the Belize Companies and Corporate Affairs Registry. The system’s features include registration of businesses, access to a company’s profile and history, reminders on annual filing to each user, ensuring that their business status remains active and in good standing, verifiable E- certificates of registration or incorporation, and E- filing. Project Manager of the Financial Services Commission and the Belize Companies and Corporate Affairs Registry, Yuri Alpuche, spoke about how the online service came to fruition and the rationale behind its development.

The Director General of the Financial Services Commission, Claude Haylock, discussed how the the online service reduces costs and time to start a business. He says that the venture will hopefully stimulate economic growth and encourage foreign investors to do business in Belize.
