A taxi driver of Belmopan escaped fatal injuries on Saturday night after he was stabbed to the neck. Police have since detained the assailant, a 21-year-old employee of A and R. The story is that at around seven thirty, 52-year-old, Jose Melgar was approached by the assailant at the Huang Mart parking lot requesting that he be taken to Armadillo Street. When the driver reached the said destination, the customer asked that he drive further up the street so he could find a pharmacy. But then, Melgar was asked to go through a feeder road and that was when he became suspicious as it was not in the direction of any pharmacy.
