Melbourne Wade Junior – the car dealer turned accused scammer has reportedly collected thousands of dollars within a period of three months after taking monies from several businessmen without fulfilling his side of the transaction. Today, the 30-year-old, was brought down from prison to face a sixth charge of theft after another complaint of vehicle theft was lodged against him. Today’s charge stems from Wade renting a white Ford Escape from one Floyd Ford, and then pawning the vehicle. An all-points bulletin was put out on the vehicle, and Police were able to detain the pawn broker along with the SUV. Ford, the owner of the vehicle identified the property as being his, and as such Wade was once again taken to court for theft. Wade argued the matter, saying he should not be charged since the vehicle has been returned to the owner. The Chief Magistrate denied Wade bail and he was taken back to prison until December 3. Wade has pulled similar scams in recent months, including one against the former Mayor of Belize City, Zenaida Moya, who lost over fourteen thousand dollars to Wade for a vehicle purchase. His most recent court matter was on September 25 where Wade was charged with two counts of theft after dishonestly acquiring use of a black Ford Escape and a Chevy Equinox. Wade was also able to deceive a bus conduction who reported to Police that he gave Wade eight thousand five hundred dollars as a deposit for a black Chevy Equinox. Another one of Wade’s victims is a taxi driver who gave Wade five thousand dollars towards the purchase of a Chrysler van.
