Central American Bank Representatives Collaborate with Belize on Health Sector Strengthening

Representatives of the Central American Bank of Economic Integration (CABEI) are in Belize to work with GOB on strengthening the health sectors in Belize City and the towns of Punta Gorda and Orange Walk. The team will be conducting evaluations of medical facilities in the three locations to assist with ongoing feasibility studies for investments. CEO of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development, and Investment, Dr. Osmond Martinez explained that the visit is part of the process for the Briceno administration to receive low-interest loans from South Korea.

Martinez added that the studies will guide the government on whether to renovate or replace the medical facilities in the target areas.

The team also be conducting a modernization study at the port of Belize.
