Elmer Nah, the former cop who has been accused of carrying out a triple murder in Belmopan, may just be innocent of the crime. It has been almost two years since Nah has been on remand at the Belize Central Prison. His time in jail stems from what investigators say is solid evidence proving that he was the hitman. Today, however, the well-known criminal attorney, Dickie Bradley spoke on the Nah case, saying that despite the allegations, Nah maintains his innocence. He noted that at this juncture Nah is fighting to be heard, and is willing to go above and beyond in proving his innocence. One angle he is focusing on is the video of the killer that was caught on surveillance cameras. Bradley says Nah is hoping to get a professional analysis of the video.

Dickie Bradley, Attorney at Law: “You enlarge that image that you have of that person and you will see who is there because that is not me. Now you don’t have to be a lawyer to know that an intelligent former police officer like that would never be so stupid to know that he is the one coming down that street and gone killed those people and he is demanding that you get whatever it is and you enlarge that and enhance that and you will see who is the murderer and you will see that that….no they don’t want to do. But the law from the highest court, the Caribbean Court of Justice in a case we know about has said that no a person who is accused is entitled to be assisted to be given facilities so that he can properly defend himself. So when they reached what was called the Supreme Court for that trial and if this man he has to be allowed and the government has to pay for it. He has to be allowed to enhance the photos or the video and even for experts to come and explain what is there and if what he is claiming is true it means the murderer is out there. If he’s a fool to say go and enhance it because if that is enhanced and he is seen on it it’s over for him. So it would seem that the will not be found guilty of that crime. He cannot be if he’s not on that video.”
The allegation is that on December 31, 2022, Nah went to the home of Jon Ramanarace on Belen Street in Belmopan. In the incident, Jon, his wife, Vivian Belisle and his brother, David were killed. David’s girlfriend, Yemi Alberto who was also shot but survived. Three days into the investigation, Nah was a Police Corporal at the time was charged for two counts of murder and attempted murder. The charges were altered almost two weeks later when Belisle passed away. Nah now faces three counts of murder, attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, dangerous harm.
