Turning now to the weekend crime … a man is dead, two persons are hospitalized, and another man is on the lam after a domestic dispute escalated to murder in the Cayo District. On Sunday night just after ten o’clock, 25-year-old, Wilmer Ordonez, his common law wife, Maria Guevara, and 24-year-old Luzbin Ordonez were at their home in the Golf Course area of Roaring Creek Village when a dispute ensued. According to police, during the scuffle, a man, identified as Jose Reyes, opened fire on the group, killing Wilmer Ordonez and injuring the two others. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Hilberto Romero, says that police have issued a wanted posted for Reyes and believe that the murder was the result of a domestic dispute.
ACP Hilberto Romero, Officer Commanding Eastern Division: “Information is that there was an altercation between Wilmer Ordonez and a male person identified as Jose Reyes in the area which led to the shooting. Wilmer Ordonez was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Also injured in the shooting were Maria Guevarra and Luzbin Ordonez. They were treated at the hospital and remain there in a stable condition.”

ACP Hilberto Romero, Officer Commanding Eastern Division: “The information we’re getting is that this stemmed from a domestic dispute and at some point this person Jose Reyes arrived with a shot gun and fired shots towards the deceased and the other two females.”
Reporter: Did he have previous problems with them ?
ACP Hilberto Romero, Officer Commanding Eastern Division: “All the information we have is that they know each other, we are not sure if they had problems with each other before. Police are one the area and we’re also trying to locate the suspect.”Our newsroom also spoke to the deceased’s brother, Jose Samayua, who says he believes his brother was innocently killed. He told Cayo Correspondent Fem Cruz that it was his brother’s wife who reportedly started the argument.
Police were alerted of the incident last night, and were cautioned to approach with caution as the shooter was armed with a 12-gauge shotgun. The suspected shooter, however, had already left the area when the cops arrived. The now wanted man, Jose Reyes is a resident of Armenia Village.
