Two passenger buses collided early this morning on the Philip Goldson Highway. Reports are that a McFadzen Bus and a BBOC bus collided between miles 12 and thirteen sometime after even o’clock. Albert Pinkard, the driver of the BBOC bus said that he was traveling alone, and contrary to reports on social media, the incident was not caused by a race for passengers between him and the other bus.
And while Pinkard says that racing for passengers did not cause the accident, it remains a concern for many commuters. We spoke to Thomas Shaw President of the Belize Bus Association who said that he believes racing culture is a thing of the past.
The matter is being handled by the insurers of the respective companies.
