Police are trying to put an investigation together after the harrowing discovery this week that eighty-two-year-old William Watson was murdered. Watson’s body had been pulled out of his burnt Banak Street home last week and authorities did not learn until the post-mortem examination that he died from multiple stab wounds to the neck. Today, Commissioner of Police Chester Williams says that investigating the crime will be difficult and called on anyone with helpful information to report it to the police.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “Police will have to interview a number of persons, it is extremely tough because that one left us for the simple fact that at the initial stage the information was that he died from the fire maybe smoke inhalation or something of that sort but having done the post mortem examination it revealed that he died from multiple stab wounds which means that he was stabbed and then after he was stabbed and murdered then the house was set on fire. We know that some persons lived downstairs we’re not sure if those person were at home at the particular time and we also know that he does have children but they may live in the states. The investigators have been probing they have been looking at surveillance footage in the area to see if we can come up with something to assist the investigation but at this time we have not been able to make any significant progress but we’re not going to give up on it and I would appeal to the public that if they have any information that they believe can lead to the arrest of those persons concerned to please feel free to visit us or call the 0800-922-TIPS number and provide the information. The house was extensively damaged and even for example if there was forced entry with the door we would not be able to tell because that was also destroyed during the fire. But we’re trying to see how we can work along with the fire department as well as the National Forensic Service to see what we can come up with to be able to guide the investigation.”
Police out west are on the hunt for three men who barged into a jewelry store in the Cayo District and held up its workers at gunpoint. Just after 7:30, a trio of masked bandits armed with guns stormed Cano’s Jewelry in San Ignacio Town and forced the employees into a bathroom. The men then reportedly ransacked the establishment and stole several pieces of jewelry before making good their escape.
