Fire in Buttonwood Bay

A fire broke out on Sunday morning in the Buttonwood Bay area of Belize City. It happened at around eight o’clock, and when firefighters arrived on the scene, they found a partially wooden and concrete bungalow structure. Resident, 28-year-old Nigel Payne, says that his girlfriend had left home for work, leaving an iron plugged in. Arson was ruled out as a suspected cause of the fire. The estimate for damages is currently unknown. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
