Former Directors of Saint Francis Xavier Credit Union Publicly Apologize to Administrator After False Accusations

In a significant development, the former directors of the Saint Francis Xavier Credit Union Limited (SFXCU) have issued a public apology to Marlowe Neal, the Administrator of the credit union. In a press release, Everaldo Puck, Juana Terry, Omar Huitz, Timotea Sanchez, Addy Camara, Carlota Bacab, and Udalberto Muñoz, announced that they are withdrawing all previous accusations made against Neal regarding negligence and misuse of resources. The apology comes after a series of public statements and reports made by the former directors between April and May 2024, in which they alleged that Neal had failed in his duties and misappropriated resources at SFXCU. These claims were made in a letter to the Registrar of Credit Unions, a press release, a report to Breaking Belize News, a subsequent letter to the Registrar, and an interview with Love FM. The former directors expressed deep regret, acknowledging that their earlier statements were made without sufficient verification of the facts and that they caused harm to Neal’s reputation. They also apologized for any embarrassment or inconvenience their accusations may have caused.
