Good Samaritans Rescue Elderly Man from Burning Home in San Ignacio

An elderly man was saved by two good Samaritans from a house fire. Just after three o clock this morning, 86-year-old Leopoldo Waight was taken out of his burning home by David and Roberto Requena. The men were walking on Second Street, in the San Ignacio area while on their way to work when they saw smoke coming out of a wooden house. The heroes started knocking on the door and throwing rocks at the bedroom windows until they got a response. Love News spoke to one of the men who saved the retiree and he explained how they managed to get the homeowner out of the burning home.

Firefighters were able to control the fire without it spreading to other homes close by and Waight managed to get out safe and sound.
