High Court Adjourns Murder Trial, Considers No-Case Submission in Rodman Welch Case

The High Court of Belize has adjourned the murder trial of Rodman Welch, until Thursday, to consider a no-case submission by his attorney Orson Elrington. Welch’s trial for the 2020 murder of Shakeem Dennison continued today before justice Nigel Pilgrim. After prosecutor Riis Cattouse closed the crown’s case, Elrington submitted that Welch did not have a case to answer to. Here’s how he explained it.

If the court does not uphold the submission, Elrington will proceed with Welch’s defense. Dennison was shot dead int eh Yabra area of Belize City on October 12 2020.
