A delegation of Counselors from the Board of Executive Directors of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is currently on a five-day visit to Belize. The visit aims to provide the Counselors with first-hand insights into various IDB Group-funded projects nationwide. Since Monday, the delegation has toured several sites that reflect improving education, health, and infrastructure in Belize. Notable visits include the Itz’at Steam Academy, the Belize City Pump Station, and the San Mateo area in San Pedro, the Southern Regional Hospital, and the Palm Center for Long-term Care. During these site visits, the Counselors engaged with key stakeholders involved in the day-to-day operations of the initiatives, assessing progress and discussing the challenges and successes that have arisen. According to the government, the delegation’s interactions aim to foster a deeper understanding of the impact of IDB investments in Belize. Their visit concludes on Friday.
