Last chance to submit theme for Belize @42 Theme Competition announced by National Celebrations Commission

The Belize National Celebrations Commission is sending a final notice to the public to submit a theme for Belize @42 Theme Competition. To set the mood and tone for the upcoming September celebration, NCC announced the competition in March, and this Friday will be the last day to submit. Director of the Institute of Creative Arts, Kim Vasquez, informs Love News about this year’s initiative.

Kim Vasquez, Program Officer, Institute of Creative Arts:  “So the Belize at 42 theme competition closes the deadline for entries closes this Friday April 21st so we are making a last call to the public to get your submissions in. You can win $1000 as the cash prize and you go down in history, you become a part of our cultural heritage, the legacy of having been a part of selecting the theme for Belize at 42. Some things you can keep in mind as you’re trying to come up with your submission you can think about our cultural heritage, our history, our Belizean values, our beliefs and identities these are some themes you can brainstorm around. The actual theme that you submit should not be more than 10 words and as I said it closes off this Friday and the competition is open to anyone it doesn’t have any specific age so students can participate, classrooms can come together and submit an entry, families or you can do one on your own there is no age limit and you can submit more than one entry.”

Director Vasquez hopes that more Belizeans can involve themselves in the theme competition.
