Man Sentenced to Two Years for Inappropriately Touching a Minor

A Belize City man has been sentenced to two years in prison for inappropriately touching a nine-year-old girl. Twenty-four-year-old Joshua Garnett was found guilty of sexual assault on September 29 and appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court today for his sentencing hearing. His sentence takes effect from the day he was found guilty. During the trial, the victim testified in a closed court session, recounting the assault and how frightened she was by the incident.
