Minister Andre Perez Attends World Oceans’ Conference in Athens, Greece

Minister of Blue Economy, Andre Perez, recently returned from Athens, Greece where he attended the World Oceans’ Conference.  It was an event that saw leaders partake in multiple meetings and workshops on the protection of the oceans.  Minister Perez spoke with Love News on his participation and the takeaways from the conference.

Also attending the conference was the CEO in the Office of the Prime Minister, Narda Garcia.  CEO Garcia had engaged in discussions with Jamaica’s Minister of Economic Growth and Job Creation, with responsibility for Water, Environment, Climate Change, and the Blue & Green Economies, Matthew Samuda.  Those discussions focused on key areas relating to the realities of Small Island Developing States and the Caribbean in meeting global ambitions for both oceans and climate change, and the approach and representation of the region at the upcoming Climate Change COP and the UN Oceans Conference.
