Money Eye – It’s a street apparel clothing brand that has become synonymous with youth culture in Belize, and it now has a flagship store in the Old Capital. In 2020, a Belizean American family in Los Angeles established the brand to stand out and represent youth culture. The group has worked to establish the brand as a Belizean streetwear associated with sneaker and hip-hop culture and recently moved to increase its presence in Belize. Yesterday, the Money-Eye group opened the doors to its first store, “Kixx Remix”. The owner, Jason Godoy, explained that the establishment offers high-quality named-brand sneakers and unique outfits for the entire family.
Jason Godoy, Owner of Kixx: “This is actually our first flagship store. Once we created the brand three years ago we set out early to say the flagship store will be in Belize because it’s here we were born, we were raised, we grew up so it’s only right for we come and start it in Belize. The brand started in LA but it’s only right to come put our flagship store here in Belize City. Money Eye as a company has been established over 20 years, started as a party promotion company and over the years we just evolved, we changed with time. Now we have the Kixx Remix Sneaker Store. It’s mostly pre-owned sneakers, very good condition. This is the trend in the United States right now. So we believe that it’s only right for Belizean to get an opportunity to have their own preowned sneaker store that sell authentic and affordable pre-owned sneakers. This whole thing, well the idea, been in the works for over a year but as far as construction and rehabing the store it’s less than two months, you know just constant grind. When I came in on Sunday it was just work, work, work, no sleep to try to meet our deadline which was September 7th, you know ? So a lot of hard work going on behind the scenes but yesterday the crowd came out and we had a very, very good grand opening, you know. Everybody loved the aesthetic, and they love how the store feel, they like the vibe and everything. So I think we’re off to a very good start.”
