The Regional Health Manager for the northern region, Felix Rhaburn, has come out to publicly condemn and clarify reports made on social media by Ryan Joseph Budna. According to Rhaburn, Budna created a false narrative blaming the Northern Regional Hospital for the death of a volunteer firefighter. Budna’s account of the matter say that the firefighter went into the hospital for a broken leg; he was attended to and sent home. He returned a few hours later complaining of discomfort but he was disregarded. Rhaburn has countered the report saying that such unprofessional reports are unacceptable.

Felix Rhaburn, Regional Health Manager, Northern Regional Hospital: “What we were made to understand is that there is some information or Facebook posts that is alleging that the Northern Regional Hospital was negligent in managing a patient, which for the record we need to clarify that there was never a broken leg. The patient record indicated that there was never a fever, and even worse so there was never a gang green. So those are completely erroneous information that the public needs to be aware of. The person had several encounters with the institution and we are under the impression that the individual might have not followed the doctors orders as indicated. I think it’s very important for us as a society to be mindful of the negative effect of misinformation and disinformation. So we must be mindful towards certain personalities that we gravitate towards, which could definitely lead to some implications.”
Rhaburn appeals to the public to filter information and to rely only on credible sources.
