Opposition Leader Moses Shyne Barrow’s Letter to Speaker Sparks Controversy

Leader of the Opposition, Moses Shyne Barrow has sent a letter to the Speaker of the House, Valerie Woods.  What was expected to be a letter of apology, had no direct apology to the Speaker.  Of the 313 words in the email, the line closest to an apology was, quote, “It is in this vein that I write hoping for a reset between the Office of the Speaker and the Office of the Leader and his Opposition Members so we can conduct the business of the People’s House in an orderly manner that brings maximum benefit to the people we serve.”  End of quote.  Love News spoke with Barrow late this evening who seemingly got upset when our newsroom asked, ‘where is the apology?’

Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition: “The letter speaks for itself. My spirit is in a reset and if it is that the speaker took offense to what was contained in my email, I offered the apology there and the focus is to move forward in a spirit of reciprocity that sees equal reverence for the Office of the Leader and the members of the opposition and that we all abide by this standard of decorum and orderly behavior so that we can get the business of the people done in the honorable house of representatives.”

Reporter: But is it an apology sir because some might say that it’s a run-around letter and you don’t necessarily apologize to the speaker for what had transpired.

Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition: “That is your opinion, I’m not going to answer the same question twice. The letter is there and you have a right to your opinion.”

The Leader of the Opposition will be a guest on The Morning Show tomorrow.
