Over two hundred buses need to be replaced says CEO Leal

Over two hundred public transportation buses will need to be replaced. That’s according to the Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Transportation, Marconi Leal, Jr. The ministry is hoping to revamp Belize’s public transportation sector with the upgrading of buses, the renovation of terminals countrywide, and the implementation of a ticketing system. However, implementation of these reforms remain the crux of the dispute between the Ministry and the Belize Bus Association. According to CEO Leal, the members remain concerned over whether the upgrading of their buses will cut into their revenue streams.
