Police Commissioner Defends Investigation in Stabbing Incident Case

The Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams, has responded to the attorney of a fourteen-year-old charged in relation to a stabbing incident over the weekend. Yesterday, the victim’s family stated that the police’s investigations were poor and portrayed a false narrative that paints him as the aggressor. The family claims the minor, who recently graduated from primary school, was attacked and viciously beaten, which led to him defending himself. Their attorney, Norman Rodriquez, chastised the police for what he called a lazy investigation. However, the ComPol says he is sticking by his cops and believes they made the right call.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “I am aware of the case and I don’t think I should answer to every accusation made by attorneys. Attorneys are people who are paid to defend clients and they will always try to find the most creative or the most enticing story or twist to a story to give the public a certain perception. I am sure the police did their investigation, recorded statements from witnesses who were present as well as from the victim himself and it is clear that the person who has been charged was properly charged and if Mr.Rodriguez believed that his client acted in self defense then at trial he will have a chance to defend his client and bring up that defense.”
