Police Corporal Myron Williams Awaits Bail Hearing Following Gun Assault Charge

A Police Corporal is hoping to be granted court bail on Friday after he was taken to prison today due to a domestic dispute.  39-year-old, Myron Teyon Williams was arraigned this morning in Court Number Three on gun assault charge and harm upon his wife.  He pleaded not guilty and informed the court that he has retained an attorney who was unable to make it today.  The nature of the offence involving a firearm does not allow the magistrate to grant bail, leaving Williams waiting until Friday for a bail application hearing in the High Court.  The charges against Williams stem from a weekend domestic dispute that saw police responding to his Curassow Street resident.  According to reports, Williams arrived home just before five o’clock on Saturday morning and demanded that his wife tell him who she was with and proceeded to aim a firearm in her direction.  The wife responded, saying she was with some friends.  Williams then emptied the magazine from the firearm, and a struggle ensued between the couple.  Police were called to the home and the 32-year-old woman chose to press charges against her husband.
